The Department of Transportation may take down and remove from the right of way of any state highway any sign or other structure or thing erected or maintained thereon contrary to law. When removing a sign or other structure or thing the department shall follow and comply with the legal or statutory procedure provided by law. [Amended by 2007 c.199 §23]
