A candidate of a major political party for public office or a candidate for nonpartisan office shall be nominated only in the manner provided in ORS 249.016 to 249.205. [1957 c.608 §65 (2); 1979 c.190 §102; 1993 c.797 §7; 2001 c.721 §4]
