Section 342.953 - Network of Quality Teaching and Learning Fund.


OR Rev Stat § 342.953 (2013) What's This?

(1) The Network of Quality Teaching and Learning Fund is established in the State Treasury, separate and distinct from the General Fund. Interest earned by the Network of Quality Teaching and Learning Fund shall be credited to the General Fund.

(2) Moneys in the Network of Quality Teaching and Learning Fund are continuously appropriated to the Department of Education for the Network of Quality Teaching and Learning established by ORS 342.950.

(3) The Department of Education, on behalf of the State of Oregon, may solicit and accept gifts, grants or donations from public and private sources for the Network of Quality Teaching and Learning. Moneys received under this subsection shall be deposited into the Network of Quality Teaching and Learning Fund. [2013 c.577 §11]

Note: Section 5, chapter 661, Oregon Laws 2013, provides:

Sec. 5. Report on teachers by Oregon Education Investment Board. (1) The Oregon Education Investment Board must prepare a report with data that shows:

(a) Any changes in the number of minority teachers or teachers who speak more than one language who:

(A) Are teaching in the public schools of this state; and

(B) Are projected to be teaching in the public schools of this state by the 2017-2018 school year.

(b) Any changes in the levels of satisfaction by public education providers with the quality of new teachers who attended educator preparation programs in this state.

(c) Any changes in the number of teachers in this state who report satisfaction with levels of professional support provided to the teachers.

(2) The Oregon Education Investment Board shall submit the report described in subsection (1) of this section to the interim legislative committees on education no later than July 1, 2015. [2013 c.661 §5]
