731.406 What certificate evidences; ownership of certificate.


OR Rev Stat § 731.406 (through Leg Sess 2011) What's This?

(1) An insurer s subsisting certificate of authority is evidence of its authority to transact in this state the class or classes of insurance specified therein, either as direct insurer or as reinsurer or as both.

(2) Although issued to the insurer the certificate of authority is at all times the property of this state. Upon any suspension, revocation or termination thereof the insurer promptly shall deliver the certificate of authority to the Director of the Department of Consumer and Business Services.
