421.142 Manufacture and sale of handiwork; disposition of sale price.
(1) The superintendent of the Department of Corrections institution hereby is vested with authority, in the discretion of the superintendent, to allow the manufacture of small articles of handiwork by the inmates of the Department of Corrections institution, out of raw materials purchased by the inmates with their own funds, which articles may be sold to the public at the Department of Corrections institution. State-owned property shall not be sold or given to inmates under this section.
(2) The superintendent of the Department of Corrections institution in which the inmate manufacturing the article is confined may provide that all or a part of the sales price of the articles be deposited to the account of the inmate manufacturing the article.
