9.542 Rules for investigation of attorneys and applicants; authority of board of governors to require fingerprints.

(1) The board of governors, subject to the approval of the Supreme Court, may adopt rules of procedure relating to the investigation of the conduct of attorneys and applicants for admission and reinstatement to the bar, and relating to the conduct of admission, reinstatement and disciplinary proceedings.

(2) For the purpose of requesting a state or nationwide criminal records check under ORS 181.534, the board of governors may require the fingerprints of a person who is applying for admission or reinstatement to the bar or for renewal of a license issued by the bar. [1983 c.618 9; 2005 c.730 56]
