(A) There is hereby created within the division of multi-modal planning and programs the office of maritime transportation. The director of transportation shall assign to the office such duties, powers, and functions relating to state maritime transportation issues and activities as the director determines.
(B) In addition to those duties, powers, and functions the director assigns to it, the office of maritime transportation shall exercise and perform such other duties, powers, and functions as are assigned to it by law.
