The department of developmental disabilities shall determine whether county boards of developmental disabilities are in compliance with section 5126.046 of the Revised Code. The department shall provide assistance to an individual with mental retardation or other developmental disability who requests assistance with the individual’s right under section 5126.046 of the Revised Code to choose a provider of habilitation, vocational, community employment, residential, or supported living services if the department is notified of a county board’s alleged violation of the individual’s right to choose such a provider.
