Chapter 4501: MOTOR VEHICLES - DEFINITIONS; GENERAL PROVISIONS
4501.19 Law enforcement reimbursement fund.
There is hereby created in the state treasury the law enforcement reimbursement fund. The law enforcement reimbursement fund shall consist of fees collected by the registrar of motor vehicles under division (A)(5) of section 4503.233 of the Revised Code, and shall be used to make payments to law enforcement agencies in accordance with that division. However, the director of budget and management may transfer excess money from the law enforcement reimbursement fund to the bureau of motor vehicles fund created in section 4501.25 of the Revised Code if the registrar determines that the amount of money in the law enforcement reimbursement fund exceeds the amounts required to be paid by division (A)(5) of section 4503.233 of the Revised Code, and the registrar requests the director to make the transfer. All investment earnings of the law enforcement reimbursement fund shall be credited to the fund.
