[§ 5103.03.12] § 5103.0312. Payment to qualifying foster caregivers for attending training courses.
 

A public children services agency, private child placing agency, or private noncustodial agency acting as a recommending agency for a foster caregiver shall pay the foster caregiver a stipend to reimburse the foster caregiver for attending a preplacement or continuing training program operated under section 5103.034 [5103.03.4] or 5103.30 of the Revised Code. The payment shall be based on a stipend rate established by the department of job and family services. The stipend rate shall be the same regardless of the type of recommending agency from which the foster caregiver seeks a recommendation. The department shall, pursuant to rules adopted under section 5103.0316 [5103.03.16] of the Revised Code, reimburse the recommending agency for stipend payments it makes in accordance with this section. No payment shall be made to an individual for attending a preplacement training program if the individual fails to obtain a foster home certificate under section 5103.03 of the Revised Code.

Effect of Amendments

151 v S 238, effective September 21, 2006, rewrote the section. 

H.B. 95, Acts 2003, effective January 1, 2004, deleted "who have had at least one foster child placed in their home" following "those foster caregivers" and "training courses provided by the Ohio child welfare training program or pursuant to" following "attending", and inserted "or 5153.60".
