[§ 4731.05.1] § 4731.051. Rules for universal blood and body fluid precautions.
 

The state medical board shall adopt rules in accordance with Chapter 119. of the Revised Code establishing universal blood and body fluid precautions that shall be used by each person who performs exposure prone invasive procedures and is authorized to practice by this chapter or Chapter 4730., 4760., or 4762. of the Revised Code. The rules shall define and establish requirements for universal blood and body fluid precautions that include the following: 

(A) Appropriate use of hand washing; 

(B) Disinfection and sterilization of equipment; 

(C) Handling and disposal of needles and other sharp instruments; 

(D) Wearing and disposal of gloves and other protective garments and devices.
