§ 3937.34. Refusal to renew; notice.
 

An insurer may refuse to renew an automobile insurance policy by mailing to the insured, at his last known address appearing on the insurer's records, and at least thirty days prior to the date of expiration of the policy, a notice of the insurer's intention not to renew the policy. Such notice shall contain: 

(A) The policy number; 

(B) The date of the notice; 

(C) The effective date of expiration; 

(D) An explanation of the reason for nonrenewal and the information upon which it is based, or a statement that such explanation will be furnished to the insured in writing within five days after receipt of his written request therefor to the insurer. 

Upon compliance by the insurer with all requirements of this section, such motor vehicle insurance policy expires on the expiration date stated in the policy and notice of intention not to renew.
