§ 143B‑89.  North Carolina State Art Society, Incorporated.

The North Carolina State Art Society, Incorporated, shall continue to be under the patronage of the State as provided in Article 3 of Chapter 140 of the General Statutes of North Carolina. The governing body of the North Carolina State Art Society, Incorporated, shall be a board of directors consisting of a minimum of 22 members as follows: the Governor, the Superintendent of Public Instruction, the State Treasurer, Secretary of Cultural Resources, and the Director of the North Carolina Museum of Art, who shall be ex officio members; six members who shall be named by the Governor; and a minimum of 12 directors who shall be chosen by members of the North Carolina State Art Society, Incorporated, in such manner and for such terms as that body shall determine.
