3-408 - Election inspectors and clerks; additional clerks to count absentee ballots.

§  3-408.  Election  inspectors and clerks; additional clerks to count
  absentee ballots. Two additional clerks, to be  appointed  in  the  same
  manner  as  the inspectors of election, may be appointed in any election
  district where  absentee  and  military  ballots  have  been  mailed  to
  twenty-five or more of its registrants.  Such clerks shall be present at
  least  one  hour  before  the  polls close and at the close of the polls
  shall canvass the absentee and military ballots.  The  clerks  shall  be
  divided  between the major political parties. Such clerks shall be paid,
  by the town or city containing the election district for which they  are
  appointed  to  serve, in an amount fixed by the town or city legislative
  body.
