2006 New York Code - Powers And Duties Of Municipalities.



 
    * § 473. Powers and duties of municipalities. A municipality is hereby
  authorized:
    1.   To   undertake   and   carry  out  any  municipal  transportation
  infrastructure project for which state assistance is received or  is  to
  be received pursuant to this article.
    2.  To expend money received from the state together with other moneys
  available to it for costs incurred for any such project.
    3. To contract with any person, firm, corporation  or  agency,  either
  governmental  or  private, for the purpose of accomplishing the purposes
  of this article.
    4. To apply for and receive moneys of the  state,  federal  and  local
  governments  and  other  public  or  private  sources for the purpose of
  accomplishing projects undertaken or to be undertaken pursuant  to  this
  article.
    5.  To perform such other and further acts as may be necessary, proper
  or  desirable  in  order   to   carry   out   municipal   transportation
  infrastructure  projects  or  any  obligation, duty or function relating
  thereto.

  2000
