    § 184. Further jurisdiction. The police justice shall also possess all
  the  powers  and  jurisdiction  of  a  magistrate,  which  are or may be
  conferred by  law  upon  justices  of  the  peace,  concerning  offenses
  committed  within  the  city.  He  shall  possess  such other powers and
  perform such other duties as are now or may be conferred or  imposed  by
  law.
