2006 New York Code - District Health Officers; Powers And Duties.



 
    * §  242.  District  health officers; powers and duties. 1. Each state
  district health officer, under the direction  of  the  commissioner  and
  subject  to  the provisions of this chapter and the sanitary code, shall
  act under the immediate supervision of the regional health  director  of
  the  regional  health  area  in  which  his  district is located, as the
  representative of the  commissioner  in  all  matters  affecting  public
  health  within  his district, and shall perform such duties and exercise
  such powers as may be assigned to him.
    2. Each state district health officer shall act as the  representative
  of   the   commissioner,  and  under  his  direction,  in  securing  the
  enforcement within his district of the provisions of the  public  health
  law and the sanitary code.
