2006 New York Adoption Of The Electrical Code Technical Standards.



 
    §  27-3024 Adoption of the electrical code technical standards. a. The
  city of New York hereby adopts the 2002 edition  of  the  National  Fire
  Protection  Association  NFPA 70 National Electrical Code as the minimum
  requirements for the  design,  installation,  alteration  or  repair  of
  electric  wires  and wiring apparatus and other appliances used or to be
  used for the transmission  of  electricity  for  electric  light,  heat,
  power, signaling, communication, alarm and data transmission in the city
  subject  to the amendments adopted by local law and set forth in section
  27-3025 of this subchapter, which shall be known and cited as  "the  New
  York  city  amendments  to the 2002 National Electrical Code". Such 2002
  edition of the National Fire Protection  Association  NFPA  70  National
  Electrical  Code  with  such  New York city amendments shall together be
  known and cited  as  the  "electrical  code  technical  standards".  The
  commissioner  shall  make  a  copy  of  the  electrical  code  technical
  standards  available  for  public  inspection  at  the   department   of
  buildings.
    b.  No  later  than  September thirtieth, two thousand three and on or
  before  August  thirty-first  in  every  third  year   thereafter,   the
  commissioner  shall  submit to the city council proposed amendments that
  he or she determines should be made to  the  electrical  code  technical
  standards  to  bring  them  up  to  date  with the latest edition of the
  National Fire Protection Association NFPA 70 National Electrical Code or
  otherwise modify the provisions thereof. The city council shall act upon
  such proposal within ninety days. In addition, prior to  the  submission
  of  such  proposal to the city council, such proposal shall be submitted
  to an advisory committee established by  the  commissioner  pursuant  to
  this chapter for review and comment.
