    §  343.  Duties  of attendants for supreme and county courts in Monroe
  county. Each of the persons appointed an attendant  in  the  supreme  or
  county  court  by  the sheriff of Monroe county pursuant to section four
  hundred and nine of this chapter must attend from day to day  the  terms
  and sittings of the court to which he is assigned, to preserve order and
  to  perform  such  other  services  as  may  be required by the judge or
  justice presiding thereat, and shall attend at chambers and perform such
  other duties in and about said court-house in addition to  their  duties
  as court attendants, as may be prescribed by said justices and judges.
