    §  185.  Separate  office  of surrogate in the counties of Chautauqua,
  Nassau and Rockland. There is established a separate office of surrogate
  in the counties of Chautauqua, Nassau and  Rockland.  The  election  and
  term of such surrogate shall be in the manner provided by section twelve
  of  article  six  of  the constitution. He shall have all the powers now
  established by law.
