    §  173.  Power  of  supreme  court  justices  residing  in Erie county
  together with county judge of  Erie  county  to  appoint  criers.    The
  justices  of the supreme court residing in Erie county together with the
  county judge of Erie county, or a majority of them, shall  appoint,  and
  may  at  pleasure remove one or more criers for all the courts of record
  held in the said county of Erie.
