  § 24-0509. Relationship to other laws.
    No  provision of this article shall be deemed to remove from any local
  government any authority pertaining  to  the  regulation  of  freshwater
  wetlands,  whether  such  wetlands  are  under  the  jurisdiction of the
  department or a county pursuant to subdivision 4 of section  24-0501  of
  this title, under the county, general city, general municipal, municipal
  home  rule, town, village, or any other law, provided, however, that any
  such regulation by a local government shall be at least as protective of
  freshwater wetlands  as  the  regulations  in  effect  pursuant  to  the
  provisions  of  this  chapter  or  any  rule  or  regulation promulgated
  pursuant to the provisions of  this  article  or  pursuant  to  a  local
  freshwater  wetlands  protection  law  or  ordinance adopted by a county
  pursuant to the provisions of section 24-0501 of this title.
