2006 New York Code - State To Pay Expenses Of Transportation For Certain Inmates



 
    §  449.  State  to pay expenses of transportation for certain inmates.
  Notwithstanding any other provision of law, general, special  or  local,
  on  and  after the effective date of this section, any transportation of
  inmates to or from the institution  at  Napanoch  or  transportation  of
  inmates  to  or  from  the  Albion state training school, the sheriff or
  other person delivering or in  charge  of  transportation  of  any  such
  inmate shall be paid from the treasury after audit by and on the warrant
  of the comptroller in the manner provided by law.
    The  sheriff  or  other  person  shall be reimbursed for the amount of
  expenses actually and necessarily incurred by him for railroad  fare  or
  cost  of other transportation and for cost of maintenance of himself and
  each inmate in going to Napanoch or Albion, and for his railroad fare or
  other cost of transportation in returning home, and cost of  maintenance
  while so returning.
