Section 66-5-214 - Discharge in bankruptcy.
A discharge in bankruptcy shall not relieve any person from any of the requirements of the Mandatory Financial Responsibility Act.

Recompilations. — Laws 1983, ch. 318, § 12, recompiled former 66-5-214 NMSA 1978, relating to application of the Mandatory Financial Responsibility Act to nonresidents, unlicensed drivers, unregistered vehicles and accidents in other states, as 66-5-212 NMSA 1978, effective January 1, 1984.
A motorist cannot obtain restoration of driver's license by obtaining discharge of the judgment taken against him in the bankruptcy court. 1957-58 Op. Att'y Gen. No. 57-76.
Revocation is based on state's considered public policy. — This section intended that a driver's license should remain revoked regardless of whether the motorist had obtained his discharge in bankruptcy, and such is based on the considered public policy of this state. 1957-58 Op.
