3-46-12. Definition; slum clearance and redevelopment.

As used in the Urban Renewal Law [ 3-46-1 to 3-46-45 NMSA 1978], "slum clearance and redevelopment" includes:   

A.     acquisition of a slum area or a blighted area or portion thereof;   

B.     demolition and removal of buildings and improvements;   

C.     installation, construction, reconstruction, maintenance and operation of streets, utilities, parks, playgrounds, public buildings, including but not limited to parking facilities, transportation centers, safety buildings and other improvements necessary for carrying out in the area the urban renewal provisions of the Urban Renewal Law in accordance with the urban renewal plan; and   

D.     making the land available for development or redevelopment by private enterprise or public agencies, including sale, initial leasing or retention by the municipality itself, at its fair value for uses in accordance with the urban renewal plan.
