26:4-73 - Duty to report to local board
26:4-73. Duty to report to local boardWhenever one or both eyes of an infant become inflamed, swollen or reddened, or show any unnatural discharge at any time within two weeks after its birth, and no licensed practitioner of medicine is in attendance upon the infant at the time, the midwife, nurse, attendant or relative having charge of such infant shall report the fact in writing, within six hours, to the local board of health having jurisdiction over the locality in which the parents of the infant reside.
