TITLE XII — PUBLIC SAFETY AND WELFARE (Includes Chapters 153 - 174)
CHAPTER 153 — STATE BOARD OF FIRE CONTROL
Section 153:16-c Advisory Committee on Heating System Certification.


    I. There is established a heating system certification advisory committee appointed by the commissioner of the department of safety. The term of office for the members shall be 3 years and until a successor is appointed. The initial members of the commission shall serve staggered terms. Vacancies shall be filled in the same manner and for the unexpired terms.
    II. The advisory committee shall assist the state fire marshal in carrying out the duties assigned under RSA 153:16-b by providing advice regarding:
       (a) Developing rules under RSA 153:16-b, II.
       (b) Implementing the certification program under this subdivision.
    III. The advisory committee shall include:
       (a) One representative of New Hampshire natural gas utility companies.
       (b) One representative of the oil heat industry, recommended by the Oil Heat Council of New Hampshire.
       (c) One representative of the propane industry, recommended by the New Hampshire chapter of the Propane Gas Association of New England.
       (d) One individual experienced in the training and education of heating system installers, recommended by the chancellor of the community college system of New Hampshire.
       (e) One representative of the New Hampshire Association of Fire Chiefs, recommended by the association.
       (f) Two individuals from the public-at-large.
       (g) One representative from the New Hampshire Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Association.
       (h) One person experienced in the training and education of hearth system installers, recommended by the Northeast Hearth, Patio, and Barbecue Association.
       (i) One licensed fuel gas fitter, recommended by the Plumbers, Fuel Gas Fitters and HVAC Association of New Hampshire.
