Chapter 633 - Osteopathic Medicine
NRS 633.581 - Summary suspension of license: Issuance of order; hearing; limitation on time for completing examination.

1. If an investigation by the Board of an osteopathic physician or physician assistant reasonably determines that the health, safety or welfare of the public or any patient served by the osteopathic physician or physician assistant is at risk of imminent or continued harm, the Board may summarily suspend the license of the osteopathic physician or physician assistant. The order of summary suspension may be issued by the Board, an investigative committee of the Board or the Executive Director of the Board after consultation with the President, Vice President or Secretary-Treasurer of the Board.

2. If the Board issues an order summarily suspending the license of an osteopathic physician or physician assistant pursuant to subsection 1, the Board shall hold a hearing regarding the matter not later than 45 days after the date on which the Board issues the order summarily suspending the license unless the Board and the licensee mutually agree to a longer period.

3. Notwithstanding the provisions of chapter 622A of NRS, if the Board issues an order summarily suspending the license of an osteopathic physician or physician assistant pending a proceeding for disciplinary action and requires the osteopathic physician or physician assistant to submit to a mental or physical examination or a medical competency examination, the examination must be conducted and the results must be obtained not later than 60 days after the Board issues the order.
