NRS 439.270 - Persons diagnosed with epilepsy: State Board of Health to define epilepsy for purposes of section; reports required to be submitted to Division and to Department of Motor Vehicles; confidentiality of reports; criminal penalty.

NV Rev Stat § 439.270 (2014) What's This?

1. The State Board of Health shall define epilepsy for the purposes of the reports hereinafter referred to in this section.

2. All physicians shall report immediately to the Division, in writing, the name, age and address of every person diagnosed as a case of epilepsy.

3. The Division shall report, in writing, to the Department of Motor Vehicles the name, age and address of every person reported to it as a case of epilepsy.

4. Except as otherwise provided in NRS 239.0115, the reports are for the information of the Department of Motor Vehicles and must be kept confidential and used solely to determine the eligibility of any person to operate a vehicle on the streets and highways of this State.

5. A violation of this section is a misdemeanor.
