Chapter 706 - Motor Carriers
NRS 706.8842 - Physician s certificate: Issuance; renewal; health requirements. [Effective through December 31, 2013.]


NV Rev Stat § 706.8842 (2013) What's This?

1. Before applying to a certificate holder for employment as a driver, a person must obtain a physician s certificate with two copies thereof from a physician who is licensed to practice in the State of Nevada.

2. A physician shall issue the certificate and copies described in subsection 1 if the physician finds that a prospective driver meets the health requirements established by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, 49 C.F.R. 391.41 et seq.

3. The certificate described in subsection 1 must state that the physician has examined the prospective driver and has found that the prospective driver meets the health requirements described in subsection 2. The certificate must be signed and dated by the physician.

4. The physician s certificate required by this section expires 2 years after the date of issuance and may be renewed.

NRS 706.8842 Medical examiner s certificate: Issuance; renewal; health requirements. [Effective January 1, 2014.]

1. Before applying to a certificate holder for employment as a driver, a person must obtain a medical examiner s certificate with two copies thereof from a medical examiner who is licensed to practice in the State of Nevada.

2. A medical examiner shall issue the certificate and copies described in subsection 1 if the medical examiner finds that a prospective driver meets the health requirements established by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, 49 C.F.R. 391.41 et seq.

3. The certificate described in subsection 1 must state that the medical examiner has examined the prospective driver and has found that the prospective driver meets the health requirements described in subsection 2. The certificate must be signed and dated by the medical examiner.

4. The medical examiner s certificate required by this section expires 2 years after the date of issuance and may be renewed.

5. As used in this section, medical examiner means a physician, as defined in NRS 0.040, or a chiropractic physician licensed pursuant to chapter 634 of NRS.
