NV Rev Stat § 642.435 (2013) What's This?

1. Each person who is issued a permit to operate a funeral establishment must pay the annual fee prescribed in NRS 642.0696 for the renewal of the permit.

2. The Board shall, before renewing a permit to operate a funeral establishment, make an unannounced inspection of the establishment for which the permit was issued to ensure compliance with:

(a) The laws governing the preparation, burial and disposal of dead human bodies, and the shipment of bodies of persons who have died from infectious or contagious diseases;

(b) Local health and sanitary ordinances and regulations relating to funeral directing and embalming; and

(c) Federal regulations governing funeral practices.

Each person who is issued a permit to operate a funeral establishment shall be deemed to have consented to such an inspection as a condition for the issuance of the permit.

3. The Board shall, on or before January 1 of each year, mail to each holder of a permit to operate a funeral establishment a notice that the renewal fee for the permit is due and that if the renewal fee is not paid by February 1, a penalty will be added to the renewal fee, and in no case will the penalty be waived.

4. Upon receipt of the renewal fee and any penalties imposed by the Board pursuant to subsection 3, the Board shall issue a renewal certificate to the holder of the permit.
