Chapter 269 - Unincorporated Towns
NRS 269.072 - Town officer not to be interested in certain contracts and purchases; penalties. [Effective through December 31, 2013.]


NV Rev Stat § 269.072 (2013) What's This?

1. It is unlawful for any town officer, directly or indirectly, to be interested in any contract made by the town officer, or be a purchaser or be interested in any purchase under a sale made by the town officer in the discharge of official duties.

2. Any person violating subsection 1 is guilty of a gross misdemeanor and shall forfeit his or her office.

NRS 269.072 Town officer not to be interested in certain contracts and purchases; penalties. [Effective January 1, 2014.]

1. Except as otherwise provided in NRS 281.230, 281A.430 and 332.800, it is unlawful for any town officer, directly or indirectly, to be interested in any contract made by the town officer or to be a purchaser or interested in any purchase under a sale made by the town officer in the discharge of his or her official duties.

2. Any person who violates this section is guilty of a gross misdemeanor and shall forfeit his or her office.
