NRS 452.240 - Removal of bodies when structure becomes danger to public health; payment of expenses of reinterment.


NV Rev Stat § 452.240 (2011) What's This?

1. Whenever any mausoleum, vault, crypt or structure heretofore erected, and containing one or more deceased human bodies, shall, in the opinion of the Health Division, become a menace to public health, any court of competent jurisdiction may order the person, firm or corporation owning the structure to remove the deceased body or bodies for interment in some suitable cemetery at the expense of the person, firm or corporation owning such mausoleum, vault or crypt.

2. If no such person, firm or corporation can be found in the county where such mausoleum, vault or crypt may be located, then such removal and interment shall be at the expense of the cemetery or cemetery association, county, city or town where such mausoleum, vault or crypt may be situated.
