79-1139. Special education programs and services; children eligible.

Each school district shall include only students identified and verified pursuant to sections 79-1137 and 79-1138 in special education programs and shall not provide special education services pursuant to the Special Education Act to any child who has not been so identified and verified, except that the verification requirements established by rules and regulations adopted and promulgated by the State Board of Education shall not apply to students who have been included in special education programs pursuant to the special education statutes and rules and regulations adopted and promulgated pursuant thereto in effect immediately prior to July 17, 1986, until such time as such children are required to be reverified for special education.
