Section 71-1737
Prohibited activities; penalty.

Notwithstanding the provisions of any other statute, any person, corporation, association, or other entity who engages in any of the following activities shall be guilty of a Class IV felony:

(1) Engaging in the practice of anesthesia as a certified registered nurse anesthetist without being issued a certificate as such by the department, with the approval of the board;

(2) Knowingly employing or offering to employ any person as a certified registered nurse anesthetist when knowing that such person is not certified as such by the department with the approval of the board;

(3) Fraudulently seeking, obtaining, or furnishing a certificate as a certified registered nurse anesthetist or aiding and abetting such activities; or

(4) Using in connection with his or her name the title certified registered nurse anesthetist, the abbreviation C.R.N.A., or any other designation tending to imply that he or she is a certified registered nurse anesthetist, certified by the department with the approval of the board pursuant to the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Act, when such person is not actually a certified registered nurse anesthetist.
