61-3-481. Generic specialty license plates -- restrictions on use. (1) Generic specialty license plates may be issued by the department in conjunction with the registration of any motor vehicle except a motorcycle or a quadricycle. The department may not issue generic specialty license plates without the motor vehicle having been registered.

(2) Generic specialty license plates may be used only as the official license plates for a motor vehicle.
