53-4-233. Eligibility determination for applications.


     53-4-233. Eligibility determination for applications. Whenever a local office of public assistance receives an application for assistance under this part, an eligibility determination must be promptly made by the local office of public assistance. Each applicant shall participate in any screening required by the department and must be informed of the applicant's right to a fair hearing and of the confidential nature of information secured. Upon completion of an eligibility determination and any required screening, aid must be furnished promptly to all eligible persons. Each applicant must receive written notice of the decision concerning the applicant's request for assistance.
