     70-9-502. Disposition of surplus proceeds. In case any balance arising from such sale shall not be claimed by the rightful owner within 1 week from the day of said sale, the same shall be paid into the treasury of the county in which such sale took place, and if the same be not claimed by the owner thereof or his legal representatives within 1 year thereafter, the same shall be paid into the general fund of said county.
