Title XII PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELFARE
Chapter 208208.197. Professional services payment committee established, members, duties. — 1. The "Professional Services Payment Committee" is hereby established within the MO HealthNet division to develop and oversee the pay-for-performance payment program guidelines under section 208.153. The members of the committee shall be appointed by the governor no later than December 31, 2007, and shall be subject to the advice and consent of the senate. The committee shall be composed of eighteen members, geographically balanced, including nine physicians licensed to practice in this state, two patient advocates and the attorney general, or his or her designee. The remaining members shall be persons actively engaged in hospital administration, nursing home administration, dentistry, and pharmaceuticals. The members of the committee shall receive no compensation for their services other than expenses actually incurred in the performance of their official duties.
2. The MO HealthNet division shall maintain the pay-for-performance payment program in a manner that ensures quality of care, fosters the relationship between the patient and the provider, uses accurate data and evidence-based measures, does not discourage providers from caring for patients with complex or high-risk conditions, and provides fair and equitable program incentives.
