Title XI EDUCATION AND LIBRARIES
Chapter 170170.071. Publisher to pay filing fee — use of fund. — Before the publisher of any school textbook offers it for sale to any school board in the state of Missouri, and at the time of the filing of the textbook in the office of the state board of education, the publisher shall pay into the treasury of the state of Missouri a filing fee of ten dollars for each book offered by the publisher. A series of books by the same author and upon the same subject constitute one book for this purpose. The fees received constitute a fund out of which, upon requisition made by the state board of education, shall be paid the expenses of publishing lists and other information for the use of school boards, clerk hire and the other necessary expenses in connection with the filing of all textbooks submitted for adoption in the state of Missouri.
