Section 565.180 Until December 31, 2016--Elder abuse in the first degree--penalty.

565.180. 1. A person commits the crime of elder abuse in the first degree if he attempts to kill, knowingly causes or attempts to cause serious physical injury, as defined in section 565.002, to any person sixty years of age or older or an eligible adult as defined in section 192.2400**.

2. Elder abuse in the first degree is a class A felony.
