Ballot form for submission of tax--tax to become effective, when.

94.877. The ballot of submission shall contain, but need not be limited to:

Shall the governing body of . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (insert name of political subdivision) impose a tourism tax of . . . . . . .% on sales, charges or admissions on all hotels, motels, recreation vehicle parks, campground sites, condominium units rented for less than thirty days for the purpose of funding . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (insert type of improvement)?

YES NO If a majority of the votes cast on the question by the qualified voters voting thereon are in favor of the question, then the tax shall become effective on the first day of the calendar quarter following the calendar quarter in which the election was held. If a majority of the votes cast on the question by the qualified voters voting thereon are opposed to the question, then the governing body shall have no power to impose the tax authorized by section 94.870 unless and until the governing body again submits the question to the qualified voters and such question is approved by a majority of the qualified voters voting on the question.
