Approval of bond.

473.183. The judge or clerk shall examine and approve or reject the bond of each executor or administrator and the approval or rejection thereof shall be endorsed thereon and entered on the records of the court. In the case of personal sureties, the judge or clerk shall take special care to accept as sureties, only those who are solvent and sufficient and who are not bound in too many other bonds. Before giving approval, the judge or clerk may take testimony or examine on oath the applicant or persons offered as his sureties as to the value and character of the assets of the personal surety. If the bond is rejected the executor or administrator, within such time as the judge, or in his absence, the clerk directs, shall give a bond with satisfactory sureties.
