Criminal charges filed and disposition of case, notice to pawnbroker, duty of prosecutor or circuit attorney--release of hold order, procedure.
367.048. 1. The prosecuting attorney or the circuit attorney shall notify the pawnbroker in writing in cases where criminal charges have been filed and the property may be needed as evidence. The notice shall contain the case number, the style of the case and a description of the property.
2. The pawnbroker shall hold such property until receiving notice of the disposition of the case from the prosecuting attorney or the circuit attorney. The prosecuting attorney or the circuit attorney shall notify the pawnbroker and claimant in writing within fifteen days of the disposition of the case.
