71-3-159 - Workers' Compensation Individual Self-insurer Guaranty Association and Workers' Compensation Group Self-insurer Guaranty Association.

§ 71-3-159. Workers' Compensation Individual Self-insurer Guaranty Association and Workers' Compensation Group Self-insurer Guaranty Association.
 

The Mississippi Workers' Compensation Self-insurer Guaranty Association created under this chapter shall be renamed as the "Mississippi Workers' Compensation Individual Self-insurer Guaranty Association" and there is created a separate nonprofit unincorporated legal entity to be known as the "Mississippi Workers' Compensation Group Self-insurer Guaranty Association." All individual self-insurers shall be and remain members of the individual association and all group self-insurers shall be and remain members of the group association as a condition of their authority under Section 71-3-75, Mississippi Code of 1972. These associations shall perform their functions under plan s of operation established and approved under Section 71-3-165 and shall exercise their powers through boards of directors established under Section 71-3-161. However, any individual or group self-insurer composed of the state, or any agency thereof, or county or municipal governments shall not be required to be members of the individual association or the group association.
