Section 609.102 — Correctional Fees; Imposition By Court.

609.102 CORRECTIONAL FEES; IMPOSITION BY COURT.

Subdivision 1. Definition. For purposes of this section, " correctional fee" means a fee for local correctional services established by a probation agency or the commissioner of corrections under section 244.18.

Subd. 2. Imposing fee. When a court places a person convicted of a crime under the supervision and control of a probation agency, the agency may collect a correctional fee based on the agency's fee schedule adopted under section 244.18, subdivision 2.

Subd. 2a. Imposing correctional fee. When a person convicted of a crime is supervised by the commissioner of corrections, the commissioner may collect a correctional fee based on the commissioner's fee schedule adopted under section 244.18, subdivision 2.
