Section 299F.856 299F.856 INSPECTION.
299F.856 INSPECTION.
To enforce sections
299F.850 to
299F.859, the attorney general and the state fire marshal may
examine the books, papers, invoices, and other records of any person in possession, control, or
occupancy of any premises where cigarettes are placed, stored, sold, or offered for sale, as well as
the stock of cigarettes on the premises. Every person in the possession, control, or occupancy of
any premises where cigarettes are placed, sold, or offered for sale is hereby directed and required
to give the attorney general and the state fire marshal the means, facilities, and opportunity for
the examinations authorized by this section.

NOTE:This section, as added by Laws 2007, chapter 54, article 7, section 16, is effective
December 1, 2008. Laws 2007, chapter 54, article 10, section 16, the effective date.
NOTE:This section is repealed if a federal reduced cigarette ignition propensity standard
that preempts this section is adopted and becomes effective. Laws 2007, chapter 54, article 7,
section 22.
