     353.85 Optional benefits to survivors of members who 
  died after June 15, 1973.  


    A qualified survivor of a "basic" member or a member of the 
 police and fire fund where such member died after June 15, 1973 
 and was entitled to salary or vacation pay after June 30, 1973 
 shall in lieu of all other association survivor benefits be 
 entitled to the survivor benefits payable under the law in 
 effect on July 1, 1973.
