     116O.11 Research grants to education units. 


    The board may make matching grants to public and private 
 postsecondary education institutions or units within those 
 institutions, including the Natural Resource Research Institute, 
 for applied research and development.  Grants are to be made for 
 projects which will likely result in assisting economic and 
 employment development in greater Minnesota.  The corporation 
 board shall not give final approval to a research grant until it 
 has received an evaluation and recommendation from the Research 
 Advisory Board established in section 116O.10.
