Act 368 of 1978 333.2845 Inability to locate body; registration of death upon receipt of findings of probate court; marking death registration; extension of time periods. Sec. 2845. (1) When a death is presumed to have occurred in this state but the body cannot be located, the state registrar may register the death upon receipt of the findings of the probate court, including the personal and medical data required to complete the death registration. The death registration shall be marked "presumptive" and shall show on its face the date of registration and identify the court and the date of decree. (2) The state registrar may provide for the extension of time periods prescribed for the filing of death registrations in cases where compliance would result in undue hardship.
